Honolulu police have opened an unattended death investigation after 50‑year‑old Jenny Lupton, a Southwest Airlines flight attendant based in Oklahoma, was found dead outside her hotel in Waikiki. According to a department spokesperson, Lupton fell from the balcony of her room on the 24th floor of the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Luxton’s family was informed by the Honolulu Department of the Medical Examiner that the fall appeared to be from the balcony. Her sister, Tresa Lupton, said her sibling had been in Hawaii for work and had planned to return to Oklahoma after a few days. Tresa added that Jenny had gone out with a co‑worker, danced, and even got a tattoo while there.

Hotel security told the family that police are reviewing more than 70 surveillance cameras in the area, though officials have not confirmed whether any footage captured the incident. Honolulu Police have not released further details pending the investigation.

Tresa Lupton traveled to Hawaii to search for her sister and expressed concern that the timeline of events “doesn’t make sense,” suggesting the possibility of foul play. The department has indicated that it will withhold additional information until the investigation is complete.
