Sen. Tom Pischke, a Republican from Dell Rapids, South Dakota, has withdrawn from his re-election bid. Pischke, who was running for a third term in the District 25 Senate seat, notified the South Dakota Secretary of State’s Office of his decision. The 44-year-old had previously served three terms in the House.
Pischke’s withdrawal comes as he faces charges of committing election fraud ahead of the South Dakota Republican Party convention.
