The Socorro Independent School District has started the new school year with several initiatives, including the ‘Team SISD Senior Pass’ for senior community members.
New Programs and Achievements
This program provides free admission to regular-season athletic events and fine arts performances for residents 65 and older who live within the district boundaries.
Socorro ISD has also achieved significant financial progress, moving from a projected $42 million deficit to adopting a balanced budget for the 2025-2026 school year and the new school year.
The district’s pathway to technology programs, or P-TECH, allows students to earn an associate degree and/or certification in a specific career area before graduating high school.
In the previous year, over 3,800 students graduated, with almost 500 earning associate degrees and more than 3,300 students earning industry-recognized certifications.
