Skeletal Remains Found Near Happy Jack Road

The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office discovered skeletal remains in an abandoned building off Happy Jack Road on Wednesday night.

According to the department, deputies were called to the 8800 block of Happy Jack Road after receiving a report of human remains. Responding deputies found a body that was nearly fully decomposed.

The sheriff’s office and Laramie County coroner are now working to identify the body. The investigation may take several months due to the condition of the remains.

Currently, there is no evidence to suggest foul play or a threat to the community, the sheriff’s office said. It added that there will likely be no further releases regarding the body until identification is complete and next of kin is notified.
