Sioux Falls Mayor Election Recount Starts

The Sioux Falls City Clerk’s Office announced that the recount of the June 23 Sioux Falls mayoral election will start on Wednesday. Mayor-elect Christine Erickson and runner-up Jamie Smith, who finished within two votes of each other in the runoff, have selected representatives for the recount process.

Recount Details

About 36,000 ballots cast in the historic election will be recounted. City Clerk Jermery Washington warned that the review could take multiple days to complete.
