Simpsonville Approves $29.4M Budget

The Simpsonville City Council approved a $29.4 million budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, which will go into effect on July 1. The budget includes several ordinances related to the city’s finances.

Traffic Calming Measures

The council also approved solutions following a traffic calming study conducted by Impact Designs Inc. The study examined the League Estates and Poinsettia subdivisions, as well as Jones Avenue and Hedge Street. The approved solutions aim to reduce traffic congestion in these areas.

The traffic calming study was proposed after the council voted to reopen Hunter Street, which was closed in November 2022. The road is slated to reopen on August 8, but may be delayed until traffic calming measures in League Estates are complete.

The council also gave initial approval to an amendment to the city’s fiber franchise agreement ordinance. If approved, all new agreements would be subject to the City Council’s approval or denial. This item will go before the council for final approval on July 14.
