Siemens Corp. announced a new $19 million manufacturing facility in eastern Tarrant County, specifically in west Grand Prairie. The 96,000-square-foot facility will expand the company’s capacity for electrical products and create about 160 new jobs.
Facility Details
The new facility will be located at 901 E. Avenue K in Grand Prairie and will serve as a dedicated location for factory acceptance testing and warehousing for Siemens’ electrical products. The site will utilize the company’s 3D modeling software to simulate production lines for new layouts, logistics, and workstation planning.
Siemens Corp. currently has two other facilities in Grand Prairie, both of which are low-voltage electrical equipment factories. The company also has a $190 million factory in south Fort Worth, which employs over 1,000 workers.
Investment and Job Creation
The new facility is one of two announced by Siemens, representing a combined investment of over $200 million. The company also plans to build a new 550,000-square-foot facility in Pendergrass, Georgia.
Ann Fairchild, Siemens USA president and CEO, stated that the investments underscore the company’s commitment to scaling American manufacturing capacity. Barry Powell, North American president of Siemens Electrical Products, noted that Texas and Georgia offer strong business environments, access to a highly skilled workforce, and close proximity to the company’s existing operations and supply chain network.
