The Community School in Shreveport, Louisiana, is expanding its learning opportunities thanks to a generous donation from Expand Energy. The donation, valued at nearly $250,000, will provide new technology resources to enhance educational opportunities for the school’s community of students with physical challenges and neurodivergent developmental differences.

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux joined school leaders, students, and families to celebrate the donation during a special event that featured a playground carnival for students and their siblings. The donation was made possible through the Expand Charity Classic, a golf tournament hosted by Expand Energy in April to raise money for organizations serving communities across the region.

School officials said the new technology will be used in classrooms and throughout the campus to better support students and expand access to learning resources, and to be able to offer trainings and clinics remotely. The investment will help provide students with additional tools and resources that support learning while creating new opportunities for their educational growth.
