Shreveport Aquarium is hosting Shark Week, a week-long celebration of shark-themed activities, interactive exhibits, and special events for visitors of all ages.
Family-Friendly Fun
Children ages 2 to 12 can receive a free shark-themed party pack each day with paid admission or an aquarium membership. Visitors can also complete the Shark Explorer Stamp Trail to earn a free shark sticker from the gift shop.
Guests can search for fossilized shark teeth in the Red River Treasure Mine, enter the Shark Art and Poetry Gallery contest for a chance to win a grand prize shark basket, and meet Yoko, the mystery swell shark whose unusual birth made international headlines.
Special Events
The aquarium is offering interactive experiences where visitors can feed stingrays and meet bamboo sharks while learning about the relationship between the two species. Daily activities include shark crafts, storytime, and bubble parties on select days, shark science programs, educational talks, and shark feedings.
Several special events are also scheduled during the week, including Shark Trivia and Tacos Night, a community blood drive, and Zenon the zebra shark’s ninth birthday party.
