Shooting Near Boston’s TD Garden Leaves Community on Edge

Boston police are actively investigating a shooting that occurred near TD Garden on Tuesday night, causing concern among local residents and visitors. The incident took place at the intersection of Friend Street and Causeway Street, where an NBC10 Boston photojournalist reported hearing gunshots and discovered shell casings on the ground. The front door of Hotel Indigo, located at 280 Friend Street, was also shattered during the incident.

Witness Accounts and Police Response

Witnesses initially mistook the gunfire for fireworks. One witness recounted, “I thought it was fireworks, but then I saw the muzzle shot and everyone running. That’s when I saw two people put on their hoodies and run off.” In response, police conducted a protective sweep of the hotel’s first floor but found no one in need of assistance.

Impact on Local Businesses

Sullivan’s Tap, a popular local bar, shared surveillance footage on their Instagram account showing patrons scrambling for safety as the shots were fired. The bar reassured its followers with a caption stating, “Everyone is safe at Sullys after shots were fired on Friend St.”

As of now, there have been no reports of injuries, and NBC10 Boston is awaiting further updates from the Boston police. This incident highlights the importance of community vigilance and the need for continued efforts to ensure public safety in the area.
