Shohei Ohtani, the Dodgers’ star player, will be available for the team’s weekend series against the Yankees after sitting out the All Star Game due to irritation in his left knee.
Ohtani’s Status
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced that Ohtani had fluid drained from his knee to relieve the irritation. Ohtani did not receive an injection and is expected to be in the lineup for the series.
Ohtani was selected to his sixth All Star Game but did not participate due to the knee issue. He is batting .293 with 22 homers and 58 RBIs, and has a 1.79 ERA with 95 strikeouts in 85 2/3 innings over 14 starts.
