It has been a banner week for Sheridan County basketball, with local student-athletes earning recognition on two separate stages and reminding the community just how deep the county’s hoops talent runs.

First, the Sheridan Boys Basketball Team turned heads at the 2026 4A State Tournament, rolling past Green River in convincing fashion in the first round. The win put the Broncs squarely in the spotlight as one of the teams to watch in Wyoming’s top classification, and it gave the Sheridan faithful plenty to cheer about heading into the later rounds of the tournament.

Adding to the excitement, three Sheridan County high school basketball players have been selected to participate in the 2026 Wyoming vs. Montana All-Star Series — a prestigious showcase that brings together the best prep talent from both states. Being chosen for the WY vs. MT All-Star Series is a meaningful honor, recognizing not only individual skill but also the strength of the programs those players represent. For Sheridan County, landing three spots in the series underscores just how consistently the area produces high-caliber athletes.

The good news didn’t stop there. Seven athletes and three coaches from the north-central Wyoming region have also been tapped to take part in the Wyoming Coaches Association All-Star Games — another sign that Sheridan-area talent is being recognized at the statewide level across multiple sports.
