The Sheridan Police Department is alerting residents of new rules for chair placement along the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Parade route. Captain Tom Ringley made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, explaining that under a resolution approved by the Sheridan City Council, chairs, benches, coolers, signs, and other items can be placed along the route starting at 5 p.m. the night before the parade.
The new rules aim to ensure public safety and prevent the obstruction of sidewalks. Captain Ringley stated that the police department had received complaints about people having to walk in the street due to gaps in chairs and that the new rules are a compromise between allowing chairs to be placed early and ensuring easy removal.
