Sheridan teams are well represented in the state tournament for Legion Baseball in Wyoming. Both the Sheridan Troopers and Jets are in the Division I state tournament, which begins this coming Friday at Gillette.
State Tournament Matchups
Of the four first-round matchups, two of them will feature Sheridan versus Cheyenne. The Troopers are the number one seed from the North and will take on the Cheyenne Hawks. The Jets are the No. 4 seed from the North and will go up against Cheyenne Post 6.
The Jets got in when Cody lost both games yesterday at Gillette and were tied with Powell for the No. 3 seed with a head-to-head split, but lost the tiebreaker due to giving up more total runs versus common conference opponents.
The Sheridan Cavalry are one of three teams remaining at the B-State Tournament in Riverton. The team lost last night in the semifinals against Casper and play at 1 p.m. today versus Bridger Valley in an elimination game.
The Sheridan Infantry ended up going 1-2 at the SEA State Tournament in Laramie and were eliminated by the host team yesterday afternoon.
