A partial closure of the Red Line starts Tuesday and lasts through Thursday, July 30. The line is closed from Alewife to Park Street for system upgrades, impacting stops in Somerville, Cambridge, and Boston.
Free Shuttle Buses Available
Free, accessible shuttle buses are available during the closure. Riders are warned to budget extra time – at least 70 minutes using the shuttle between Park Street and Alewife.
Riders can also opt to take an existing bus line – the 69, 87, 88, 89, 91, and 109 from Davis Square – or use the Commuter Rail, which will be fare-free between Porter Square and North Station.
