Texas Tanner, a 2022 graduate of Sheridan High School and recent graduate of the US Air Force Academy, has won the discus event at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held in New York City.
Championship Details
Tanner initially placed third after three throws with a distance of 203 feet 2 inches, which was enough to place him in the top 9 and earn him three more throws. He made the most of his second chance, tossing the discus 214 feet 9 inches to win by more than 4 feet.
In addition to his win in the discus event, Tanner also placed sixth in the hammer throw. In June, at the NCAA Championships, he placed second in the hammer throw and fourth in the discus.
