Sheridan Council Considers Parade Chair Placement

The Sheridan City Council will consider a resolution outlining stipulations for early chair placement along the Sheridan WYO Rodeo parade route. According to Sheridan Police Chief Travis Koltiska, the placement of chairs has created a safety issue that has worsened over the past few years as people have begun placing their chairs along the parade route as early as Wednesday morning.

Proposed Resolution

The proposed resolution states that no person shall place chairs, benches, coolers, signs, or other personal property upon any public sidewalk, curb, street, alley, or public right-of-way along the parade route prior to 5 p.m. on the day immediately preceding the parade. Any item placed in violation of the resolution will be subject to removal.
