It has been a thrilling week for Sheridan athletics, and the biggest highlight belongs to the Sheridan boys basketball team, which has advanced to the 2026 Wyoming High School 4A State Championship Game. The Broncs fought their way through the state tournament bracket to earn a spot on the sport’s biggest stage in Wyoming’s top classification — a tremendous accomplishment for the players, coaches, and the entire Sheridan community.
The run to the championship game is a testament to the hard work and dedication the Broncs have put in throughout the season. Sheridan fans have plenty of reason to cheer as their team competes for the ultimate prize in Wyoming high school basketball.
The good news doesn’t stop on the hardwood. Six high school football players from the north-central Wyoming region — which includes the Sheridan area — have also been selected to participate in the 2026 Shrine Bowl Game. The Shrine Bowl is one of Wyoming’s most prestigious all-star football honors, recognizing standout senior players from across the state. Being chosen is a mark of excellence and a well-deserved recognition for these young athletes and their communities.
Together, these achievements reflect the depth of athletic talent calling Sheridan and the surrounding region home. Whether on the basketball court or the football field, local student-athletes are representing their schools and their community with pride at the highest levels of Wyoming high school competition.
