Born Barbara Ann Dylan on September 10, 1946 in Kansas City, KS, she spent her life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
Family and Faith
Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Myrle and Ruby Dylan. She married Rodney Holmes on August 7, 1965, and the couple shared 61 years of marriage. Together they raised three children—Damon, Angie, and Jason—and were blessed with a growing family of grandchildren: Olivia, Max, Phoebe, Dylan, Skylar, Drake, Xavier, and Ezekiel.
A lifelong member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Barbara found comfort in the promise of a future paradise where sickness and death will be no more (Rev 21:3‑4). Her faith guided her daily life and gave her peace in her final moments, knowing she would be reunited with loved ones when the earth is restored.
Career and Community Involvement
Before retiring, Barbara worked as a buyer for the Sericol Ink Company, where she was known for her diligence and integrity. Outside of her professional life, she was an avid equestrian. Riding her horses was a favorite pastime, and she lovingly taught her grandchildren the skills needed to compete at 4‑H events, passing on a legacy of discipline and joy.
Legacy and Remembrance
Barbara’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her husband Rodney, her children, and her many grandchildren. Friends and neighbors remember her as a gentle, steadfast presence who embodied the values of faith, family, and service.
