Scott Rosenberg and Heather Toman, owners of Full Circle Community Farm in Seymour, have built a thriving organic farming community in northeast Wisconsin. Rosenberg, who previously worked in the insurance industry, decided to pursue a career in sustainable farming after a midlife crisis. He met Toman, who holds a master’s degree in biology, and together they established the farm in 2017.
Community Supported Agriculture
The farm has grown to serve 250 people through its Community Supported Agriculture program, delivering fresh produce to customers in Green Bay, De Pere, and Appleton. Rosenberg and Toman have also partnered with other local farms to provide food to schools and restaurants. The farm offers a ‘worker share’ option, where members work a shift each week in exchange for a large box of produce.
Rosenberg and Toman’s commitment to sustainable practices has earned them recognition as Marbleseed’s Organic Farmers of the Year for 2024. They continue to expand their operations, including building a pack shed and high tunnel greenhouses. The farm has become a community hub, with workers and interns learning new skills and finding a sense of belonging.
Expanding the Farm
Amber Borealis, who started as a worker share eight years ago, is now the farm’s pack shed manager. She has seen the farm grow from a single field to 12-15 acres at peak season. Borealis appreciates the sense of community on the farm, which has become like a family to her. Rosenberg and Toman’s dedication to sustainable farming and community building has created a thriving organic farming community in northeast Wisconsin.
