Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell is continuing his recovery after being hospitalized last week but will not be voting in the Senate this week, according to a spokesperson for the senator.
Recovery Update
McConnell was admitted to the hospital on June 14, but little information has been released on why he needed to be hospitalized. In an update on Monday, McConnell’s spokesperson said he is working closely with staff on Senate business but will not be voting this week.
McConnell, who is 84 years old, has represented Kentucky in the U.S. Senate since 1985 and previously served as the Senate Majority Leader from 2015 to 2021. His most recent hospital stay comes after several recent health scares involving the senator, including a bout with “flu-like symptoms” in February and a serious fall in 2023.
