The Selma-Dallas Co. Economic Development Authority recently hosted its inaugural Workforce Summit in downtown Selma. The summit brought together local industry and state agencies to discuss resources available for workforce development.
Workforce Development a Top Priority
Bobby John Drinkard with AIDT was a presenter at the event, emphasizing the importance of a skilled workforce for businesses. Davis Henry, President of Henry Brick Company, also stressed the need for qualified workers.
Wallace Community College Selma partnered with the EDA to put on the Workforce Summit. EDA Executive Director Brenda Tuck highlighted the importance of the college’s programs in supporting local companies. WCCS President Dr. Donitha Griffin was the guest speaker at the event.
