Wednesday night’s heavy rains and hail caused significant damage to vendors’ tents at the Green Bay Farmers’ Market on Broadway. One business owner, Jennifer Bukouricz of Monzù Bakery, reported that her tent was destroyed in the storm.
Damage and Aftermath
The whole area was flooded, with water covering the streets, parking lot, and Atkinson Park. The hail was intense, with Bukouricz describing it as ‘pop, pop, pop.’ Nearby neighborhoods also experienced significant hail damage, with piles of hailstones accumulating on lawns.
On Broadway, the organization that runs the market, released a statement saying that they followed established severe weather protocols and closely monitored forecasts and available data. They will conduct a thorough review of the situation and evaluate their procedures to help ensure the continued safety of attendees, vendors, and staff.
