Denver’s Santa Fe Drive is set to undergo a major rebuild, starting August 10. The Santa Fe Streetscape project will see intersections rebuilt, sidewalks widened, and landscaping improved between Sixth Avenue and 13th Avenue.

The project, funded by the Vibrant Denver bond, will also upgrade underground utilities, drainage systems, and power lines. The street will be closed between Sixth and 12th avenues from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays for the next few months.
Businesses will remain open during construction, but temporary access changes might be required. Bus stops in and around Santa Fe might have to be temporarily relocated, with the Regional Transportation District making any changes known through its website.
The rebuild is expected to take two years to complete, with utility work concluding in early 2027. One lane of travel should reopen after that, with the rest of the project continuing through 2028.
