San Antonio will commemorate America’s 250th anniversary with a variety of events and activities on July 4. The city’s official Independence Day celebration, the H-E-B Fourth of July Celebration, will take place at Woodlawn Lake Park, featuring live music, carnival rides, food vendors, and a fireworks display.
Local Events
In addition to the H-E-B celebration, other events include the Red, White & Bexar Celebration at Mission County Park, the Stars & Stripes on Houston Street in downtown San Antonio, and the America 250: A Work in Progress event at Jaime’s Place. The Alamo will also host a full day of family-friendly programming, including living history demonstrations and a free concert by the Fort Sam’s Own 323rd Army Brass Quintet and Rock Band.
Other events in the area include the SeaWorld 250 and Fourth of July Fireworks at SeaWorld San Antonio, the Star-Spangled Nights at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and the River Walk Fourth of July Artisan Show. The Heart of Texas Concert Band will present a concert at Trinity Baptist Church, featuring patriotic favorites and Americana.
Closures and Services
Most City of San Antonio offices will be closed on July 3 in observance of Independence Day. However, police, fire, and EMS services will remain in operation, along with the 3-1-1 Call Center, city parks, trails, and public pools.
