A Rochester woman has been given a jail sentence for threatening a coworker with a knife. Josephina Iba Omerichamoi, 26, appeared before an Olmsted County judge and was ordered to serve a 10-day jail sentence with work-release privileges. She was also placed on probation for five years and was given a stayed 23-month prison sentence that could be imposed if she violates her probation.
Workplace Dispute
According to the criminal complaint, Omerichamoi was accused of brandishing a knife in the office of her manager at her workplace in Rochester in January 2024. The court document says she followed the victim into the office because the victim was going to discuss a dispute with her manager. Omerichamoi allegedly pulled out a pocketknife, unfolded the blade, pointed it at the victim, and stated, ‘You can’t do this to me.’ The manager intervened, instructing the victim to step away and telling Omerichamoi to put away the knife.
