Rapids Water Park in Riviera Beach was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a threatening phone call prompted a large police response and an active investigation.
According to the Riviera Beach Police Department, officers received a report of a possible bomb threat at approximately 12:13 p.m. at Rapids Water Park, located at 6466 N. Military Trail. An administrative employee at the park received a phone call from an individual who allegedly stated, ‘You are all going to die. There’s a bomb on the property.’ When the employee asked the caller to clarify the statement, the individual reportedly repeated, ‘You are all going to die.’ The employee then ended the call and contacted law enforcement.
At the time of the incident, three Riviera Beach police officers were already working an on-site detail at the water park. With assistance from those officers, park staff safely evacuated the property. Officials said no one is being allowed onto the premises, and the entrance to Rapids Water Park has been closed.
Authorities have not released information about any suspects or whether any explosive devices have been found. No injuries have been reported. The park has remained closed for the day as posted on their website.
