Country music artist Riley Green is set to make his debut as a coach on the popular television show ‘The Voice’ when its 30th season premieres later this year. Green’s journey to the coaching chair was influenced by two significant appearances in 2025.
During a recent episode of American Country Countdown, Green shared that his participation in a performance and Q&A session at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, followed by an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ were pivotal in securing his role on the show. ‘There were mentions that there was interest that I might be a possible candidate,’ Green explained. ‘We had a good rapport at the Grammy Museum, and that got me the job.’
Green’s appearance on Jimmy Fallon, where he showcased his personality by teaching Fallon how to use a duck call, further solidified his place on the coaching panel. He noted that the producers were looking for a personality similar to that of former coach Blake Shelton.
Filming for the new season is expected to begin in the coming months. Green admitted that while he is still familiarizing himself with the show’s dynamics, he is eager to embrace the coaching aspect. ‘I’m excited about the coaching part of it,’ he stated, having taken cues from Shelton’s time on ‘The Voice’ and Luke Bryan’s experience on ‘American Idol.’
Joining Green as a rookie coach is Queen Latifah, while seasoned coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine return, both having won the competition four times. Green mentioned that Clarkson, a fan of his music, reached out to congratulate him on his new role.
The Voice, Season 30 Premiere, is scheduled for September 2026 on NBC.
