Rent for Cheryl, a local band from Akron, is set to headline the PorchRokr festival on Saturday. This will be the band’s first time headlining the event, which draws upwards of 20,000 people to the west side neighborhood.

Preparing for the Big Stage

The band has been practicing its 90-minute set at drummer Ronnie Copfer’s house, perfecting their mix of indie alternative, rock, pop, blues, funk, and jazz sounds. With a new album, ‘Mountain Songs,’ set to release this fall, the band is excited to perform for their hometown crowd.

Rent for Cheryl’s music is a unique blend of genres, with soulful and melodic vocals from singer Isabelle Post and impressive musicianship from the rest of the band. They are known for their jam sessions, which can sometimes go on for two to three hours.
