The Major League Baseball All-Star Game has arrived, and two Cincinnati Reds are representing the club in Philadelphia. Third baseman Sal Stewart and starting pitcher Chase Burns were both named All-Stars in their first full seasons with the club.
Stewart, 22, has been the heartbeat of the Reds’ offense in the first half, leading the team with 19 home runs, 22 doubles, and 65 RBIs. Burns, 23, stepped up in the extended absence of Hunter Greene in the rotation, pitching to a 2.54 ERA with 118 strikeouts in 18 first-half starts.
Red Carpet Appearance
On Tuesday, ahead of the Midsummer Classic in Philadelphia, the two put on their most stylish outfits and hit the red carpet as they arrived at Citizens Bank Park.
