Shreveport, La. – Downtown Shreveport is gearing up for a historic milestone as the Red River Revel Arts Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary. The eight‑day event, part of KTKT 3’s weeklong “Celebrating the ArkLaTex” series, runs over two weekends and will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 18 at Festival Plaza.
Festival highlights and schedule
Visitors can expect roughly 90 visual artists displaying paintings, sculptures and crafts throughout the plaza. Interactive exhibits will engage families, while nightly live music showcases a mix of regional and national talent. Headliners for the two weekends include Brady Blade & Friends, The American Tragedy with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra, Jeter Jones, Better Than Ezra, Shinyribs, The Highland Collective and Windstorm.

“Revel 50 belongs to everyone who has ever volunteered a shift, sold a painting, played a stage, or brought their kids through the gates,” said Executive Director Logan Lewis. The festival has long relied on local volunteers, artists and small businesses, making it a true community celebration.
Family‑friendly access
Gates open daily at 11 a.m. Admission is free before 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and $10 after 5 p.m. as well as all day Saturday and Sunday. Children 12 and under, active military personnel and first responders enjoy free entry at any time.

On Thursday, Oct. 15, Festival Plaza will host a community lunch featuring favorite vendors. It offers an opportunity for residents to mingle, sample local food and celebrate the festival’s half‑century legacy together.
