The Arkansas Razorback Marching Band has been selected to participate in the 2027 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. The announcement was made during the band’s ‘Pignic’ event at Springdale High School and was meant to be a surprise to students.
Selection Process
Officials with the band say that more than 100 bands applied to be a part of the 2027 parade. The Razorback Marching Band was one of the few selected from the large pool of applicants to take part in the parade.
‘We’ve had a band on this campus for 152 years. This is such a long-standing program that has been through so much. And so to be at the point where we can be seen on national television, and people can say, ‘Oh wow, look at those kids. They’re doing such a great job.’ I think that is incredibly rewarding for our program,’ said Mackenzie Schofield, a drum major.
