Rain Expected to Clear Out of Oklahoma by Sunday Evening

Residents across Oklahoma can look forward to a break from the rain by Sunday evening, as spotty showers are expected to clear out, making way for warmer temperatures. According to KOCO 5 Meteorologist Mikayla Smith, those in central and southern Oklahoma should keep their rain jackets handy until around noon, as isolated showers may still occur.

By late afternoon, conditions will become warm and muggy, with temperatures reaching a high of 86 degrees. Sunset is at 8:43 p.m., and the pleasant weather is expected to continue into the evening, making it ideal for outdoor family activities.

Flood Watch and Rain Chances

A flood watch remains in effect for Sunday due to the potential for lingering rain through the morning and early afternoon. Oklahoma City faces a 40% chance of rain in the morning, decreasing to 30% by evening. Eastern Oklahoma may see slightly higher rain chances.

Later in the evening, between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., there is a possibility of showers and storms redeveloping before the rain clears completely.

Looking Ahead to Monday

As the new week begins, warm temperatures are expected to persist. Morning temperatures will start in the 70s, climbing to 93 degrees in Oklahoma City. Western Oklahoma could experience even higher temperatures, reaching the upper 90s or even triple digits.

The KOCO 5 First Alert Weather Team, led by Chief Meteorologist Damon Lane, has been recognized for providing the most accurate forecast in Oklahoma City for 14 consecutive years, underscoring their commitment to delivering reliable weather information to the community.
