Pueblo Library District partners with AI platform BoodleBox to boost digital literacy

Pueblo, Colo. – The Pueblo City‑County Library District (PCCLD) is taking a bold step toward modernizing its services by teaming up with BoodleBox, an artificial‑intelligence learning and collaboration platform. In a statement, PCCLD Executive Director Sherri Baca said the partnership makes the district the first public library in the nation to formally align with the AI platform.

Why the partnership matters

“As artificial intelligence rapidly reshapes how people access information, learn, work, and create, public libraries have an essential role to play as trusted guides,” Baca explained. The collaboration will train library staff to understand a suite of AI tools, help patrons use them responsibly, and improve the community’s ability to evaluate information with confidence.

Features of the BoodleBox platform

BoodleBox aggregates multiple AI applications into a single, easy‑to‑navigate interface. According to the library, the platform’s proprietary technology cuts the environmental impact of AI interactions by up to 96 percent, a notable benefit for a city that values sustainability. The system also promises to protect user data, stating that it does not harvest information to train its own AI models.

Community event and next steps

To introduce the initiative, PCCLD will host an official AI‑focused event on September 22 at the Robert Hoag Rawlings Public Library’s Ryals Grand Event Space. Residents are invited to learn about the platform, see live demonstrations, and ask questions about how AI can be used safely in everyday tasks.

France Hoang, founder and CEO of BoodleBox, praised the library’s commitment to equity and access. “Public libraries have always been the heart of community growth. PCCLD is showing what it looks like to lead with intention—prioritizing equity and access so the whole community moves forward together,” Hoang said.

What this means for Pueblo families

For parents and students, the partnership promises new resources that can support schoolwork, job training, and personal projects while teaching critical thinking skills about AI‑generated content. By positioning the library as a trusted guide, the district hopes to safeguard families from misinformation and help them harness technology in line with traditional values.

The collaboration aligns with broader efforts across Colorado to integrate emerging technologies into public services without compromising privacy or environmental stewardship. As more municipalities explore similar initiatives, Pueblo’s early adoption may serve as a model for other communities seeking to balance innovation with responsible stewardship.
