A propane tank leak has prompted the evacuation of a neighborhood in Reading, Massachusetts. Emergency crews responded to the 200 block of Washington Street, according to a Facebook post by the Reading police at 4:45 p.m.
A hazardous materials team and bomb squad are also on the scene. The area was evacuated as a safety precaution, with Washington Street closed between John Street and Main Street, and Green Street closed from Eliot Street to John Street.
The local library is open for anyone who has been evacuated. No further information is available at this time.
