How to Play Powerball
Powerball tickets are $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Players can also buy tickets online in some states, depending on local jurisdiction. To play, pick six numbers: five white balls numbered 1 to 69 and the red Powerball, which ranges from 1 to 26. An optional $1 “Power Play” can increase non-jackpot prizes.
The growing jackpot comes as Powerball undergoes its biggest expansion in years, with players in the United Kingdom now able to buy tickets and compete for the same top prize. The next Powerball drawing will take place on Monday, August 3, at around 10:59 p.m. ET.
