Firefighters and Oklahoma Natural Gas crews responded to a potential gas leak at Ridgecrest Elementary School in Midwest City early Wednesday. Construction crews were working on the roof when they smelled gas and quickly evacuated the area.
No injuries were reported, and no school district staff were on site. The all-clear has been given, and construction work has resumed. The cause of the potential leak is under investigation.
The construction at Ridgecrest Elementary School is among several projects happening across the district as part of a bond project.
