Isaac and Andrew Reyes, brothers and tree trimmers, miraculously survived a 45-foot fall in Ponca City after a cable snapped during their job on Sunday. The incident occurred when the brothers were almost finished trimming down a tree.
Community Rallies Behind the Brothers
The brothers were airlifted to hospitals in Wichita and Oklahoma City, where they are undergoing treatment for their injuries. Isaac sustained a broken femur, torn ligaments, and severely sprained ankles, while Andrew has a fractured jaw and a broken nose.
The community is rallying behind the brothers, with Enrique’s Mexican Restaurant hosting a fundraiser on July 23 to support the Reyes family. Friends and family have also set up a GoFundMe to help the brothers during their recovery.
Both Isaac and Andrew expressed gratitude for the support they have received, with Andrew stating, ‘It’s definitely a blessing. Shocking, for sure. Blessing. A lot of good people in the city.’ The brothers are expected to be out of work for several weeks as they recover from their injuries.
