Brothers Tasker and Sawyer Phillips of Pleasantville, Iowa, have been driving sprint cars since they were teenagers, balancing their passion for racing with their family’s farming business.
Racing and Farming: A Family Affair
The Phillips brothers trade their row crops for pit row on race days, with their trailers often parked near each other at racetracks around the state. Their father, Kyle Phillips, notes that they race each other harder than anyone else.
Despite the challenges of balancing racing and farming, the brothers have found success in both pursuits. They are currently in the top five of the Randall Roofing 360 Sprints standings at Knoxville Raceway.
The Phillips family’s involvement in racing and farming is a testament to their strong work ethic and dedication to their passions. As Tasker Phillips said, ‘This was our getaway growing up, was going to the racetrack, hanging out in the pits. And this is currently still our family hangout, whether we like to admit it or not.’
