Place of Hope’s Stuart Cottages Receive Generous Furniture Donation

In a heartwarming development for the Stuart community, Place of Hope’s newest transitional residential campus has received a significant donation of furnishings from City Furniture, one of South Florida’s largest furniture retailers. This generous contribution will help transform the cottages into welcoming homes for children, foster families, and young adults who are transitioning out of challenging circumstances.

Supporting Families and Young Adults

Place of Hope, a faith-based organization based in Palm Beach Gardens, is renowned as the largest provider of transitional and affordable housing in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast. The new campus in Stuart, which opened last week, is designed to offer a supportive environment for residents from various backgrounds, including aged-out youths from foster care and single mothers with children.

The Mommy and Me Cottage, part of this campus, provides stable and affordable housing for single mothers and their children, ensuring they have a safe place to call home. The organization acquired the property from the Samaritan Center for Young Boys and Families over two years ago, and since then, it has been dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where children who have experienced trauma can feel safe and supported.

A Comprehensive Approach to Care

Charles Bender, CEO of Place of Hope, emphasized that the donation from City Furniture goes beyond just providing furniture. The new campus will offer residents safe housing, educational support, and life skills training, all within a dignity-filled environment. Bender described the campus as a place of hope for the future, right in the heart of Stuart, with brand-new buildings and a state-of-the-art outreach center.

Place of Hope’s mission is to offer neighborhood foster care, transitional housing with independent living programs, and other benefits to those in need. By creating a home-like environment, the organization aims to help children and families heal and rebuild their lives, providing them with the tools they need to succeed.
