Search effort underway
Indonesia’s Banjarmasin Search and Rescue Office said the vessel was last tracked about 92 miles from the pier in Banjarmasin, the capital of South Kalimantan province. Search‑and‑rescue teams were dispatched after receiving a report of the communications failure.
As of the latest update, officials have not reported any deaths or injuries. The cause of the loss of contact remains unclear, and it is not known whether weather conditions are affecting the search.
