Pasco County Animal Services is launching a series of free clinics this summer to offer essential vaccines and microchips for pets, aiming to support families and enhance community safety. These clinics will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of 100 pets per event. Residents can bring up to three cats or dogs to the clinics, which are scheduled across three locations from June to August.
Clinic Schedule and Services
The clinics will be held on June 9 at Robert J. Stricklan Memorial Park in Hudson, July 14 at Anclote Gulf Park in Holiday, and August 4 at Elsie Logan Memorial Park in Shady Hills. The initiative is designed to remove financial barriers for families seeking preventive care for their pets. According to PCAS Director Gary Herrero, the goal is to ensure healthy pets, supported families, and a safer community by making these services accessible to everyone.
Core vaccines provided at the clinics will protect pets against highly contagious and potentially fatal viruses common in Florida, such as rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and adenovirus. In addition to vaccinations, microchipping will be offered. Microchips serve as a permanent, scannable proof of ownership, facilitating quicker reunions of lost pets with their families and providing clear legal protection for pet owners.
