Palm Beach County commissioners are set to decide the future of a proposed AI data center, known as Project Tango, which has faced opposition from neighbors concerned about its location near Saddleview Elementary and the Arden community.
Concerns and Controversy
The proposed data center has raised concerns about its potential environmental and health impacts. The zoning board previously denied a revised application that would have expanded the already approved 200-acre site. Last week, commissioners paused new AI data center applications, but the pause does not apply to Project Tango.
The county expects a large crowd at Wednesday’s meeting and has opened the Vista Center as an overflow space. Attendees will be able to watch the hearing live and provide public comments from the overflow location.
