Students in Orange County are creatively promoting water conservation by transforming rain barrels into artistic pieces as part of the Orlando Utilities Commission’s Water Color Project.
The Project
The project involves auctioning off 28 hand-painted barrels created by local students, with all proceeds going directly back to the participating schools. The effort blends arts education, environmental stewardship, and community engagement, turning functional rain barrels into one-of-a-kind pieces that also promote water conservation.
Bidding is open to the public through July 3, with each barrel starting at $150.
