Oklahoma state Rep. Danny Williams, a Republican from Seminole, is under investigation by a legal firm regarding alleged misconduct he committed with a member of the State House of Representatives.

Investigation Details

House Speaker Kyle Hilbert confirmed that two separate investigations into Williams are being conducted. The investigations have resulted in Williams being indefinitely removed from his office space at the state Capitol. Investigators spoke to current and former House staffers and also found additional concerns of misuse of state resources.

Williams, who turns 77 this week and is married, has been at the Capitol for more than a decade. He spoke with KOCO 5, saying he doesn’t think he did anything wrong. And if he did do something wrong, Williams said it was unintentional.

Williams told KOCO 5 that he’s not dropping out of the race for re-election. He calls the whole thing a mystery to him. The Oklahoma Republican Party believes every public official is entrusted with serving the people of Oklahoma with integrity and accountability.

The party stated that they are aware of the allegations involving Representative Danny Williams and the ongoing investigation. They emphasized that the investigative process should be allowed to proceed without political interference, speculation, or premature conclusions.
