A social media influencer from Oklahoma, Sara Gilson, and her husband, Jeremiah Shawn Duffey, are dead following an apparent murder-suicide in their Owasso home. The incident occurred on July 23, less than two weeks after Gilson accused her husband of pedophilia on TikTok.

Gilson, who had over 78,000 followers on TikTok, posted a video on July 11 accusing her husband of pedophilia. The video has since gained over 22 million views. The couple’s 911 call recordings revealed a woman screaming and a gunshot, prompting police to respond to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found two people dead with gunshot wounds to the head. The child who called 911 was taken into protective custody and released to the other parent. The investigation into the murder-suicide is ongoing, with police stating there is no threat to the public.

Allegations Against Jeremiah Duffey

On June 9, the Owasso Police Department received a sex crime report from a parent and a child. The alleged incident occurred at an elementary school in Owasso, where Duffey was a basketball coach. He was accused of inappropriately touching a girl on the team. Another coach reportedly witnessed the incident and intervened, leading to Duffey’s departure from the scene.

Duffey was a member of the Osage Nation, and the case was considered a major crime under the Federal Major Crimes Act. Gilson had filed a protective order against her husband last month, citing an incident where he was caught kissing a child on one of the basketball teams he coached.
