Oklahoma voters are choosing candidates to represent the Democratic and Republican parties in the state’s gubernatorial race. The winners of the primaries will face off in November, with the winner replacing current Gov. Kevin Stitt.
Democratic Primary
Longtime lawmaker Connie Johnson is challenging Oklahoma House Minority Leader Cyndi Munson for the Democratic nomination for governor. Three Democrats are on the ballot, but Johnson and Munson have spent considerable time at the state Capitol.
Republican Primary
The field running for the Republican nomination is a crowded one, with nine candidates looking to advance to at least a runoff election later this summer and then onto the ballot during the November election. President Donald Trump recently endorsed Mike Mazzei, and a recent poll conducted by NonDoc showed that the former state senator was narrowly ahead of the other candidates.
