A 12-year-old girl died Saturday afternoon after being found at the bottom of a swimming pool near Broken Bow, Oklahoma, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at a private residence around 2 p.m. Saturday. The child had announced to an adult that she was going to go swimming, and when the adult checked on her 10 to 15 minutes later, she was discovered at the bottom of the pool.
The girl was pulled from the pool and pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital, troopers reported.
