US Senator Bernie Moreno of Ohio has spoken out against Representative Max Miller, also from Ohio, citing abuse allegations against Miller. Moreno stated that Miller is a danger to his ex-wife and should not serve in Congress.
Abuse Allegations
Moreno’s daughter, Emily, was married to Miller until last year. She has alleged that Miller burned her with boiling hot water and physically abused her and their toddler daughter. Miller has denied the allegations.
Moreno had previously attempted to sidestep the allegations, but has now spoken out, saying that Miller’s behavior has made it impossible for him to remain silent. Moreno believes that Miller needs to seek professional help to address the clear pattern of abuse he has exhibited.
The allegations against Miller threaten to put what had been a safe Republican seat in play for Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections.
