The New York Knicks’ NBA Finals victory parade drew large crowds to the streets of New York City on Thursday. As the team celebrated their win, one of their players, Tyler Kolek, was stopped by NYPD officers while running along the barricades and high-fiving fans.

The officers, who were likely unaware that Kolek was a member of the team, grabbed his arms and told him to stop running. However, after someone intervened and informed them of Kolek’s identity, the officers allowed him to continue celebrating with the fans.
Kolek, who played a limited role in the team’s playoff run, took the incident in stride, later joking about it on social media. The parade, which began in Battery Park and ended at City Hall, was attended by tens of thousands of fans and featured appearances by the team and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
